Ann Bower ’67 Financial Aid Endowment

Ann Bower

A gift from the estate plan of the late Ann Bower ’67 will support Hockaday students for years to come.

In April 2016, The Hockaday School announced a generous gift from Ann Bower ’67. At the direction of her family, the gift from Ann’s estate will allow the School to create the Ann Bower ’67 Financial Aid Endowment, which will endow the full cost of tuition for approximately six students each year. This gift will create a lasting impact and lifelong legacy of providing an exemplary Hockaday education to deserving students.

Additionally, with the opening of The Nancy A. Nasher and David J. Haemisegger Family Center for the Arts, the art gallery will be named in honor of Ann and will provide display space for exhibitions throughout the year. The Ann Bower ’67 Gallery will serve as the bridge between the main academic building and the Center for the Arts. Ann loved Hockaday, and her business acumen and her appreciation for the arts allowed her to masterfully marry her passions in life with her positive experience at Hockaday to leave a lasting legacy for the students today and in the future.

Throughout her life, she understood the importance of service. She supported a variety of charities and organizations, and as a lifelong learner and an astute business leader, she was actively involved as a member and board member in several organizations. She loved the visual and performing arts, and served as a docent at several museums throughout her life. Her mother was Ann Knight Bower ’39, and her sister is Kate Bower ’71. Ann Bower’s gift is a wonderful example of how one passionate individual can make a significant impact on Hockaday and its students for decades to come.
